Cetyl Alcohol is a versatile, plant-derived (palm or coconut) fatty alcohol used as a thickener, emollient, and emulsion stabilizer in cosmetic formulations. Available in white, odourless flakes, it imparts a creamy texture, luxurious, smooth, and velvety finish to lotions and creams, improves slip, and enhances moisturizing properties without clogging pores.
Unlike drying, volatile alcohols (like Ethanol or Isopropyl Alcohol), Cetyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol that hydrates, softens, and helps the skin retain moisture.
