Formulation Guidelines & Processing Tips
How to Avoid Clumping (The Slurry Method): To prevent fish-eyes and clumping, do not add the dry powder directly to water. Instead, pre-disperse (slurry) the Clear Xanthan Gum Powder in a non-solvent humectant like Vegetable Glycerin or Propanediol 1,3 at a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio. Once a smooth, paste-like slurry is formed, introduce it to your water phase under moderate to high agitation. The gum will hydrate cleanly and quickly.
Temperature Tolerance: Stable under heat. Can be incorporated into either the hot water phase or the cool-down phase of your processing setup.
Shear Requirements: High-shear mixing (using a stick blender or overhead homogenizer) will speed up hydration time and maximize the smooth texture of the gel network.
