INCI: Glyceryl Stearate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate.
Appearance: White to off-white flakes.
Solubility: Soluble in oil (heat to 70–75°C to melt).
Usage Rate: 2% – 10% (Typically 5% for lotions, 8% for creams).
pH Range: 5–7.5.
Emulsification Ability: Up to 25% oil phase.
Compatibility: Anionic. Note: Not compatible with cationic ingredients (like BTMS-50 or Incroquat).
Tips for Formulation
Best for Facial Care: Due to its mildness, it is highly recommended for facial serums and creams.
Preventing Separation: For more complex, thinner, or very thick formulations, add 0.2%–0.5% natural thickeners (such as Xanthan Gum or Sclerotium Gum) to boost stability.
Heat & Combine: Melt into the oil phase (approx. 70-75°C) and add to the water phase.
