Formulation Tips & Usage
Mixing Method: Can be added directly to the water phase. It is heat-tolerant up to 80°C.
Stability: Highly stable against recrystallization, making it perfect for clear formulations.
Precautions: As with all BHAs, measure the final pH. A pH lower than 3.5 should be avoided to prevent irritation.
Warnings: It is not for direct application to the skin. Patch test all formulations before full-face use. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Use sunscreen, as BHAs can increase sun sensitivity. Salicylic acid should be used with caution on patients with chronic renal (kidney) insufficiency, gastric ulcer, severe anemia, diabetes or patients intolerant to salicylate. Avoid prolonged and excessive use on large area of the body or on broken or inflammed skin.
