Formulation Guide:

• Solubility: Urea is very soluble in water but practically insoluble in oil, and should be added to the water phase of formulations.

• Recommended Usage Rate: Typical use levels in cosmetic formulations range from 1% to 10% for general hydration, while higher concentrations (up to 20-30%) are used for targeted treatment of very dry, thickened, or callused areas like feet and elbows.

• Note: Urea can hydrolyze and cause pH shifts in creams. It is recommended to use a buffer (like Lactic Acid/Sodium Lactate) to keep the formula stable.

• Avoid heating to high temperatures, as this can cause decomposition. 

TIPS: For best results, use a buffer (like a lactate buffer) in your formulation to maintain a stable pH (ideally 4-8) and prevent urea from breaking down into ammonia.
